Substance description.

Frit is a substance, result of a mixture of inorganic chemical substances produced by rapidly quenching a molten, complex combination of materials, confining the chemical substances thus manufactured as nonmigratory components of glassy solid flakes or granules.

Industrial Classification system for frits.

The members of the Frit Consortium have agreed on an internal classification system, in order to group the frits in different categories. The criteria followed to develop this system is based on the elements contained in the frit, the information available and the typology of the frit.

Important notice: this classification system has been developed by the members of the Frit Consortium; companies that do not belong to the Frit Consortium cannot make use of this system nor of any of the consequences derived from it, unless explicit permission is granted by the Frit Consortium.
